AUTHOR GUIDELINES

1. General Information

BUTA International Journal of Scientific Research publishes original scholarly research articles in the fields of humanities and social sciences. Submissions must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration by another journal.

The journal is published quarterly and operates on a double-blind peer review basis.

2. Types of Manuscripts Accepted

The journal accepts the following types of submissions:

• original research articles
• review articles
• theoretical and analytical studies
• interdisciplinary studies grounded in the humanities and social sciences

3. Language of Submission

Manuscripts may be submitted in:

• Turkish
• Azerbaijani
• English
• Russian

Submissions in other languages may be considered upon decision of the editorial board.

4. Manuscript Preparation

4.1 Structure of the Manuscript

Manuscripts should include the following elements:

Title of the article

Abstract (150–250 words)

Keywords (4–6)

Main text

Conclusion

References

4.2 Formatting Requirements

Manuscripts should be prepared in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format

Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt

Line spacing: 1.5

Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides

Pages should not be numbered

5. Abstract and Keywords

Abstracts must be provided in English

If the article is written in another language, an additional abstract in that language is required

Keywords should reflect the main content of the article

6. References and Citation Style

Authors should ensure that all sources cited in the text are included in the reference list.

The journal accepts internationally recognized citation styles, such as:

• APA
• Chicago
• MLA

Authors must use one consistent citation style throughout the manuscript.

7. Ethical Responsibilities of Authors

Authors are responsible for:

• the originality of their work;
• proper citation of sources;
• accurate presentation of data;
• disclosure of any conflicts of interest.

Plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, and redundant publication are considered unethical and will result in rejection.

8. Peer Review Process

All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process. Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent reviewers. In cases of conflicting reviewer reports, a third reviewer is appointed.

The average review period is 4–8 weeks.

9. Open Access and Copyright

BUTA International Journal of Scientific Research is an open access journal.

Authors retain copyright of their work

All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY 4.0) license

10. Submission Procedure

Manuscripts should be submitted electronically to the editorial office via the journal’s official contact email.

All correspondence regarding submissions, reviews, and editorial decisions will be conducted via email.

11. Publication Fees and Peer-Review Fee

BUTA International Journal of Scientific Research does not charge an Article Processing Charge (APC) or any publication fee.

For manuscripts that successfully pass the initial editorial screening and proceed to external peer review, a peer-review fee of TRY 2,000 is charged to cover the work associated with the external peer-review process.

The peer-review fee is charged only after the manuscript has passed the initial editorial evaluation and has been accepted for external peer review.

The fee relates solely to the peer-review process and is not a publication fee. Payment of the peer-review fee does not guarantee acceptance or publication of the manuscript and does not influence the editorial decision.

If the manuscript is rejected after completion of the external peer-review process, the peer-review fee is not refundable, as the review work has already been performed.

No additional mandatory fees are charged from submission to publication.
